Although life with God cannot be reduced to vision and mission statements, they can give us direction and resolve for developing our relationship with God and others. Our path follows in the words in Matthew 22
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself
We firstly believe that God is love and he invites us to love Him and others. God’s love is what motivates us to worship, be discipled, disciple others, serve the church, and share the gospel to our neighbours.
In response to God’s love, Bridgeway is becoming a loving community which nurtures all people to be intentional passionate Christ-centred desciples. We aim to gather, worship and participate in God’s redemptive work in every part of life
Welcome to Bridgeway! Let us do all things for the glory of God and in His Love.
OUR VISION IS TO LOVE GOD & LOVE OTHERS.
Our Beliefs
The Bible is the Complete Truth
We stand firm in the authority of scripture. Truth demands our complete dedication in every aspect of life. The infallible Word of God—the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments—testify to God’s redemptive acts, leading to the incarnation of Jesus Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the Bible is our ultimate authority on all matters it addresses.
Building upon this solid foundation, we proudly affirm these additional essentials of our faith:
God
Our belief centers on one God—the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things. Infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him belongs all honor, glory, and praise for eternity.
Jesus Christ
We affirm Jesus Christ, the Living Word, who became flesh through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and a virgin birth. Fully God and fully man, He sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sins, fulfilling Scripture. On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our High Priest and Mediator at the right hand of the Majesty on High.
Holy Spirit
We recognize the Holy Spirit’s vital role in glorifying Christ and applying His saving work to our lives. The Spirit convicts us of sin, draws us to the Savior, and resides within our hearts, granting us new life and empowering us with gifts for service. Guiding us into truth, the Spirit also seals us for redemption’s day.
Salvation and the Church
We acknowledge our estrangement from God and the condemnation brought by our sinful nature. However, our salvation hinges entirely on the boundless grace of God. It is He who, through His free grace, imputes His righteousness to those who place their trust solely in Christ for salvation, thus justifying them in His eyes. Only those who are born of the Holy Spirit and embrace Jesus Christ as their savior become children of God, inheriting eternal life as their birthright.
We anticipate the glorious return of Jesus Christ to the earth—a personal, visible, and bodily event. This return will mark the culmination of history and God’s eternal plan, where He will judge both the living and the dead.
The True church comprises of all individuals united through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. While finding expression in local congregations, the Church, though imperfect, embodies purity in preaching the Word, integrity in administering sacraments, practicing scriptural discipline, and fostering loving fellowship. Her ultimate perfection awaits the triumphant return of our Lord.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus
What Now?
We uphold the command of the Lord Jesus Christ for all believers to boldly proclaim the Gospel across the globe and to disciple all nations. Embracing the Great Commission demands unwavering dedication to the one who sacrificed Himself for us out of love. We are summoned to a life marked by selfless love and dedicated service to others.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them
Our Leadership
Pastor John Kim
Lead PastorI was born and raised in a Buddhist home. But when I was just 11 years old, my mom’s prayers and teachings led me to embrace Christianity. And then, during a soccer game, I had an epiphany and decided to dedicate myself to pulpit ministry. It might sound a bit strange, but looking back, I realize that it was all due to divine grace that I became a pastor and have remained one ever since.
After completing my studies at Tyndale, I graduated with an MDiv degree. My wife MeeYun and I have been blessed with three amazing kids: Charis, Sofia, and Kai. Serving at Bridgeway has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me, one that I am eternally grateful for.
BTW, if you are an angler, I’d love to learn more about this fine hobby. We can swap Bible study tips and fishing techniques.
Pastor Adriana Park
Childrens PastorI joined Bridgeway Church in September 2021 as the Children’s Pastor. My passion has always been to share Jesus and witness his light and love transform people’s lives. I love doing ministry with children and women, and having coffee dates with different people. I am married to Joseph and have three teens, Joshua, Alia and Kasey. By God’s grace, I also have the privilege of serving on staff with the Power to Change organization in the Women’s Heart- Engaging Network. I love being positioned inside and outside the local church to share my life and the Gospel.
Pastor Mee Yun Kim
Young Adults PastorMy passion is to walk alongside people and to offer a space where people can enter more deeply into the person of Christ and into their own uniqueness.
Please come find me, I would love to get to know you and hear about what God is doing in your life!
Pastor Jacob Paik
Youth PastorI am deeply passionate about guiding young individuals to apprentice under Jesus in the unique manner that God has designed them. My ultimate goal is to demonstrate a profound sense of connectedness that will enable the youth to establish a meaningful and transformative relationship with Jesus. In addition to my spiritual pursuits, I have a wide range of interests and hobbies that bring me immense joy and fulfillment. Stories, in particular, captivate my imagination and inspire me on a profound level.

StaffAsk me about our church history, I’ve been here since its inauguration back in 1999. I had the honour and privilege seeing what our Lord God has done and continues to do for our church. My life journey continues thanks to my loving wife, Hae Young, and our three offspring (Arianna, Elijah, Avery). I enjoy sports, tv/movies, music, travel and good food, as long as it’s a pesce-pollatarian diet.
Elders
Graham Richardson
Elder – On SabbaticalI’ve been part of Bridgeway Church for nearly 15 years, all thanks to my wife, Deacon Jeannie, who invited me when we started dating. Eventually, the Spirit led me to become an Elder in 2017, mainly assisting with church governance and some teaching. We have four amazing boys: William, Alexander, Calvin, and Russell, who somehow make us proud and keep us humble at the same time. I enjoy Scripture, reading, camping, hiking, baseball, and D&D. Despite my struggle with names, please feel free to say hi!”
Mike Choe

Youth MinistryI want to clarify that while I’m not the oldest person at Bridgeway Church, I am the oldest active member. I’ve been with Mil Al Church since its beginning in a Mount Pleasant basement, before Bridgeway Church even had its name. I’ve served in various roles, from making sandwiches for the elderly to starting our first English ministry with only 7 members aged 9 to 25. Now, I help build and maintain our church. Witnessing two generations of growth, I’m grateful that the next generation will carry on and strengthen our faith.”
